Campus France is a public establishment responsible for promoting French higher education abroad and welcoming foreign students and researchers to France. It encourages international mobility, manages scholarship programs and coordinates the alumni network.
Promoting French higher education
Campus France is a public establishment under the dual authority of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. Its activities are carried out in consultation with higher education establishments and their representative conferences: France Universités, the Conférence des grandes écoles (CGE) and the Conférence des directeurs des écoles françaises d'ingénieurs (CDEFI).
Campus France provides foreign students and researchers with tools to help them learn more about French higher education establishments and find the one best suited to their project.
Campus France also supports French higher education institutions and research organizations in their international development strategies. Campus France's various tools and initiatives are designed to promote the training offered by French institutions:
- on our website, with the Diplomas, Domains, Establishments or Home pages ;
- online catalogs listing bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, as well as courses offered in English in France;
- at events organized in France and abroad in collaboration with Campus France offices abroad;
- by integrating students on scholarships funded by the French government or through agreements signed with foreign governments or other entities (companies, foundations, etc.).
Implementing scholarship and mobility programs
Campus France is responsible for promoting the mobility of foreign students and researchers to France. As such, the agency is responsible for implementing a number of scholarship programs, from publishing calls for applications to welcoming program beneficiaries in France.
Campus France also supervises the departure of French experts abroad, and the arrival and hosting of foreign personalities and experts in France.
Welcoming foreign students and researchers to France
Campus France provides foreign students and researchers with all the information they need to prepare for their stay and settle in France. Campus France also ensures that foreign students and researchers are well received by helping higher education establishments and local authorities to improve their reception and integration arrangements.
Facilitating the international mobility of French students
One of Campus France's missions is to provide assistance and expertise to French students wishing to study in a foreign country. The agency promotes the Erasmus program in France. French higher education establishments are encouraged to forge partnerships with European institutions so that their students can benefit from funding and spend part of their studies in another European country.
Campus France is also responsible for managing scholarship programs for French students, such as the program for Arabic-speaking students and the Collège d'Europe admissions program.
Promoting the French higher education alumni network
Since 2014, Campus France has been running the France Alumni platform in over 134 countries. The site enables former foreign students and researchers who have passed through French higher education to maintain contact with France, exchange ideas with each other and access numerous internship or job offers.
France Alumni also fosters exchanges between former students and researchers and the business world. The network has 630,000 members worldwide.
